After many months of collecting healthy recipes from friends and neighbors, the F.R.E.S.H. Project cookbooks are here! The beautiful spiral bound cookbook will feature 162 recipes from local residents and contains many pages of helpful cooking hints along with several pages of local information. The F.R.E.S.H. Project is proud to offer this fine book to the local public at a donation of $10 per copy with all profits going to The F.R.E.S.H. Project. What is this study about: The purpose of this study is to help us get a better understanding of how to move The F.R.E.S.H. project forward. This survey will give us an idea of what current offerings are working and what needs improving. It will also give us more detailed information as to where else in Shawano County needs our services.
Your answers will be confidential: The records of this study will be kept private. In any sort of report, all findings will be combined and individuals survey takers will be anonymous.

F.R.E.S.H. Project’s Mobile Market Coming Near You! Partnering with local producers to bring healthy foods to your area
Shawano, WI, June 11, 2019 – The F.R.E.S.H. Project’s Mobile Market, a pilot program running from the end of June through September, will deliver fresh local produce throughout Shawano County at a very low price to the customer providing affordable, accessible, and healthy food to all.
“The Mobile Market allows you to have a deeper connection to your food, without having to grow it,” said Barb Mendoza, executive director, FRESH Project. “You will be able to get an inside look at what is happening with the farms growing your food around Shawano County.”
“Our Mobile Market will travel to you and it will be a great way to have locally grown produce in your neighborhood. You will also receive special discounts on produce, learn about cooking techniques and healthy recipes for the foods,” said Mendoza. “The Mobile Market will also help our farmers plan what to grow by sharing what kinds of produce and/or meats you are interested in.”

F.R.E.S.H. Project Sponsors 1st Annual 5K Scrabble Fun Walk/Run
The whole family is invited to join in the F.R.E.S.H. Project’s 1st Annual 5K Scrabble Fun Walk/Run during the first Shawano Farmers Market of the season on Saturday, June 15, at Franklin Park. Everyone participating in the Walk/Run will get a free F.R.E.S.H. Project t-shirt and have a chance to win a grand prize! The event starts at 9 AM from the Project’s booth at the Farmers Market. But participants can begin at their own time and set their own pace, with the event wrapping up at 11 AM.
The 5K route is all in town and includes five booths where walkers and runners can learn about the F.R.E.S.H. Project and collect Scrabble . Once someone completes the 5K the route, they’ll place their letters on the Scrabble board and try to spell a word. The person with the most points from their word will be the grand prize winner!
“Everyone had such a great time at last year’s event and we were asked to bring the fun run/walk back again to start off this year’s Shawano Farmers Market.” said F.R.E.S.H. Project Executive Director Barb Mendoza. “Everyone comes out a winner with a great walk or run through town, a free t-shirt, and fun playing a game together!”
The Fun Walk/Run is a fundraiser for the F.R.E.S.H. Project, which is working to make ensure everyone in the community has access to good food.
